💡Wisdom no. 4: If you have a Cocker Spaniel, you have a constant shadow 👻 When all humans are relaxed, sitting down, Cocker Spaniels will probably behave the same way… lie down and sleep. BUT, as soon as you go somewhere, they will follow you, to check out what you are up to.
Especially the kitchen is interesting. Somehow Cocker Spaniels always lay around in the middle of it all, so be careful you don’t step on them. Also, like you see in this video, even while you’re in the bathroom, your Cocker Spaniel need to check in on you. At least I do 😇
In general the Cocker Spaniel is quite social and do like to be with their “pack”. This is probably also why, many find it difficult to be left home alone. When getting a Cocker Spaniel puppy it is key to get the home-alone training started early and slow!
On the other hand, many Cocker Spaniels are also quite ego-centric. As much as they want to be around their humans, as soon as they find a track or the smell of something interesting, they will say “goodbye human” and go hunt with closed ears. That is naturally something that also can and should be trained with your Cocker Spaniel 🦆
